World Cup: Iran’s Faghani to Referee Third-Place Match

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - FIFA named Alireza Faghani of Iran as referee for the third-place game as Belgium play England in St. Petersburg on Saturday.

Faghani has so far officiated three matches, namely Germany and Mexico, Serbia and Brazil as well as Argentina and France and was fourth official of Uruguay and France match.

FIFA also selected Nestor Pitana to referee the World Cup final between France and Croatia on Sunday.

The Argentine referee will blow the final whistle at Luzhniki Stadium on a tournament he began there by handling the opening game, when Russia beat Saudi Arabia 5-0.
