Iran Blind Football Showed Great Potential at World Games: IPC

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national blind football team has shown strong potential at the World Championships held in Spain's Madrid in June, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) said.

Iran was one of the six countries that showed strong potential at the World Championships, IPC's media center reported.

Brazil remained under the spotlight after winning its fifth International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Blind Football World Championships, while Iran, Costa Rica, Mali, Mexico, Russia and Thailand also enjoyed a competition to remember.

Iran, the Paralympic silver medalist finished third in the ‘Group of Death’ against respective American champion and bronze medalist Argentina and Colombia, and London 2012 silver medalist France.

Iran then defeated Thailand and Mali to achieve ninth place.
