Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Representative of Kurdistan in the Assembly of Experts Mamosta Fayeq Rostami offered his condolences over the martyrdom of 11 IRGC border guards in Marivan, Kurdistan, and said the attack by terrorists has truly saddened the people of the province, especially those in Marivan.
These IRGC forces in Marivan lost their lives in defense of Iran’s Islamic Establishment and territories, he said, adding that all the people and Sunni clerics of the province strongly condemn this crime of the enemies.
Mamosta Mohammad Amin Rasti, a provisional Friday prayers leader of Sanandaj, also decried the terrorist attack and said the IRGC and all Muslims who adhere to the Islamic Republic's holy Establishment will take revenge against the terrorists, who are mercenaries of the global arrogance (the US).
“These blind terrorist acts will make Muslims more united than before in their support for the Establishment and the Leader (of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei)…,” Mamosta Rasti said.
On Friday night, anti-revolutionary terrorists attacked a border post of the IRGC Ground Force’s Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base in the village of Dari in Marivan District in Kurdistan Province, killing 11 forces of the base.
In the clash with the terrorists, a number of terrorists were killed and a number of others suffered injuries and escaped the scene, according to a statement by the IRGC released on Saturday.
The IRGC emphasized that “a deadly and crushing revenge” awaits the terrorist and anti-revolutionary groups and their supporters for committing this crime.
The IRGC is tasked with protecting the country’s northwestern and southeastern borders.
