Asian Club Volleyball Championship: Khatam Tastes First Win

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Khatam Ardakan got its campaign at the 2018 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship at the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium Hall B in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.

On Monday, the Iranian outfit defeated Kazakhstan’s Atyrau 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22) in Pool A.

A total of 13 teams participate in this top-tier championship.

Khatam Ardakan (Iran), Toray Arrows (Japan) and Atyrau (Kazakhstan) are in Pool A, with Sichuan (China), Long Power (Chinese Taipei) and Sanest Khanh Hoa (Vietnam) in Pool B.

Pool C comprises Nakhonratchasima the Mall VC (Thailand), Australia, Lanka Lions (Sri Lanka) and Hong Kong, while Pool D comprises host Asia World Club (Myanmar), Pakistan and Binagar (Turkmenistan).

The 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship is the 19th edition of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, an international volleyball club tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Myanmar Volleyball Federation (MVF).

The competition is being held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar from 30 July to 6 August.

The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship with the champion qualifying for the world championship.
