Iran Condemns Assassination Attempt on Venezuelan President Maduro
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Sunday that Tehran strongly condemns the recent drone assassination attempt on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Qassemi said the move was aimed at creating instability and insecurity in Venezuela.
He also said that the attempt served the interests of the enemies of the Venezuelan government and nation.
Venezuela’s president has survived an assassination attempt after what officials described as drones armed with explosives detonated overhead during a speech he was making at a military event.
The drones were flown towards Maduro as he addressed soldiers in Caracas on Saturday, officials said.
