Iran Beats Chinese Taipei in AVC Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran started the 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, so-called 2018 AVC Cup for Men, with a win over host Chinese Taipei on Wednesday.

The Iranian team, who has participated in the competition with U-20 team, defeated Chinese Taipei 3-1 (25–23, 14–25, 25–21, 25–23) in Pool B.

The 6th AVC Cup for Men is being held at the University of Taipei (Tianmu) Gymnasium from August 8 to 15, with top 9 teams of Asia vying for the top honor.

They are Kazakhstan, Japan and Korea in Pool A, Australia, Iran and host Chinese Taipei in Pool B, as well as Thailand, Qatar and Vietnam in Pool C.

The 2018 AVC Cup for Men is the sixth edition of the Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association (CTVA).

The tournament is being held in Taipei, Taiwan from 8 to 15 August 2018.
