In an interview with Tasnim, Allahyar Malekshahi said the plan to establish the new organization contains 43 articles and will pave the way for financial transparency in all Iranian institutions and organizations.
Once the Anti-Corruption Organization is established, he said, all Iranian bodies, including banks and municipalities, will have to submit their financial records to the supervisory organization on the Judiciary’s order.
He added that the planned organization will run under the Judiciary’s supervision and its director will be appointed by the Judiciary Chief.
In a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his cabinet members in July, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei urged the administration to take strong punitive action against wrongdoers, saying offenders in any position must be brought to justice.
Highlighting the need for strict administrative control on financial transactions to counter smuggling and money laundering, Ayatollah Khamenei had also called for a “genuine fight against corruption” and serious resolve to implement the Resistance Economy grand plan.
