Asian Games: Iran Football Beats North Korea


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-23 football team defeated North Korea 3-0 in the 2018 Asian Games.

In the match held at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Cikarang, Indonesia, Amir Roostaei gave the Persians the lead in the 27th minute.

Mehdi Ghaedi extended Iran’s lead in the 68th minute after the Korean defender made a blunder and Aref Aghasi made it 3-0 from the penalty spot in the injury time.

Iran, who had started the campaign with a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia in Group F, will play Myanmar on Monday.

Football at the 2018 Asian Games is being held from 14 August to 1 September 2018 in Indonesia.

In addition to the host city, Palembang, matches will be played in Bekasi, Cibinong, Cikarang, and Soreang.
