Spanish Police Shoot Man Trying to Attack Officers with Knife near Barcelona

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Spanish police have shot a man armed with a knife as he tried to attack a police station near Barcelona.

Police said the man entered the police station in Cornella, in the north-eastern region of Catalonia, at just before 5am BST on Monday "with the aim of attacking the agents".

The spokesman added that the had then been shot. It is unclear if he was killed, The Telegraph reported.

A spokesman for the Mossos d'Esquadra police force said: "A man armed with a knife has accessed the police station in Cornella this morning with the aim of attacking officers.

“He has been taken out."
