Al Duhail’s Strategy Is Attacking against Persepolis: Nabil Maaloul

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Qatar's Al Duhail coach Nabil Maaloul has expressed his confidence in his side's attacking abilities, as they prepare to host Persepolis in the first leg of the 2018 AFC Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

The Qatari champion goes into the tie on the back of a hugely successful season in 2017-18, when it won the Qatar Stars League undefeated and added two domestic cups to complete a treble.

"Our preparations have gone well and the team is in good shape," said Maaloul, while addressing the media on Monday. "Everyone knows that the most important objective is the AFC Champions League title."

"We know we are facing the Iranian champion. We have studied its strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully, our players will be at their best and we can get a good result before the second leg in Tehran," the Tunisian added.

"Our strategy is very clear; we will depend on our attacking strength," he added. "We will not change this. Fortunately, we have many good options up front."

"Recently, we have worked very hard on our finishing. This is not something I'm worried about. In the previous matches, we scored a lot of goals. What's important is that we create chances," Maaloul concluded.
