Iran Wins Two Medals in Kurash: Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Jafar Pahlevani and Ghanbarali Ghanbari claimed two medals in kurash sport at the 2018 Asian Games on Tuesday.

Pahlevani lost to Uzbekistan’s Mukhsin Khisomiddinov in the Men +90 kg Final at the JCC - Assembly Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Also, Ghanbari claimed a bronze medal in the Men -66 kg.

 Kurash is a form of wrestling that originated in central Asia in the territory of modern Uzbekistan.

The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event. The event is underway from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines.
