Asian Games: Iran’s Mollaei Wins Silver in Judo

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saeid Mollaei from Iran claimed a silver medal in judo event at the 2018 Asian Games on Thursday.

The Iranian athlete seized the silver in the men’s -81kg at Jakarta Convention Center Plenary Hall.

Mollaei lost to Didar Khamza from Kazakhstan in the final contest.

The bronze medal was won by Kyrgyzstan’s Vladimir Zoloev and Mongolian Uuganbaatar Otgonbaatar.

Earlier in the day, Mohammad Barimanlou from Iran had won a bronze medal in the men’s -73kg.

The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event. The event is underway from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines.
