Iran’s Moradi Takes Silver at 1500 Meters: Asian Games


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Amir Moradi of Iran claimed a silver medal in the men’s 1500m event in the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Thursday.

The Iranian athlete finished in second place with a time of 3:45.62.

India’s Jinson Johnson won the gold medal with 3:44.72.

Bahrain’s Mohammed Tiouali won the bronze with 3:45.88sec.

Iran’s Hossein Keyhani in the 3000m Steeplechase and Ehsan Haddadi in discus throw have already won two gold medals in athletic in the Games.

The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event. The event is underway from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines.
