Car Bomb Rocks Syrian city of Azaz in Northern Aleppo (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A car bomb explosion in Syria's northern city of Azaz near Turkish border left a number of people killed and wounded on Saturday.

The initial reports indicated that at least 3 people have been killed and over 20 injured on Saturday morning, according to Arabic language Al-Ittihad news website.

Witnesses said that a car bomb exploded in front of a mosque near the local council building in the center of the city.

The reports also said that the explosion caused destruction on cars, shops and buildings in the region, and that the civil defense teams and the local police are working to transport the wounded and extinguish the fire and lift the rubble.

Azzaz is controlled by opposition factions affiliated to the Turkish-backed militants.

The ISIL or ISIS took control of Azaz in October 2013 but later withdrew from the city in February 2014, soon after the Turkey-backed militants assumed control over it.
