Official: Iran to Bypass Sanctions

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of Iran's Plan and Budget Organization Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said on Saturday that the country has devised a “comprehensive plan” to counter the sanctions and is ready to skirt them.

In comments in Tehran on Saturday, Nobakht said all Iranian organizations should cooperate to deal with the foreign sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

Deploring the foreign-based think tanks that monitor the situation in Iran to nullify Tehran’s plans, Nobakht said such actions could never damage the Iranian administration’s morale, adding, “We will bypass the sanctions.”

He said Iran has prepared a comprehensive plan to deal with the sanctions, pointing to plans to regulate the currency market and to create jobs.

The administration could allocate $1 billion to save the jobs and create new job opportunities, he added, saying the Plan and Budget Organization has prepared plans to counter the sanctions by supporting the manufacturing facilities.

US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington was walking away from the nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was reached in 2015 between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China - plus Germany.

The US has also re-imposed sanctions on Iran and imposed "the highest level" of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.
