IRGC Chief Hits Back at Trump for Anti-Iran UN Speech

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari censured US President Donald Trump for his “cheap comments” against Iran at the UN General Assembly speech, saying the current approach leads to more US isolation.

In comments on Wednesday, the IRGC commander took a swipe at the US president for his hostile remarks against Iran at the UN General Assembly, saying the ones who sow chaos, death, and destruction are the US government and the reactionary regimes in the region.

“The direct and indirect crimes committed in Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Iran by the US and the governments supporting the hegemonic system will remain in the memory of Muslim and non-Muslim people of these countries,” the general added.

Pointing to Trump’s “cheap comments” which drew mocking laughter at the UNGA, Major General Jafari said the message of this mockery was “further isolation of the US and a major political scandal.”

Denouncing the US as the epitome of tyranny in the world and highlighting the growing alliance against Washington, the IRGC general said the world would soon witness the fall of the US if it keeps to its current path.

The commander also slammed Trump’s story that Iran’s president has called for a meeting with him as a “big lie”, stressing that Iranians will not change track as long as the US imperialist system is leading hegemony and tyranny in the world.
