Vietnamese Star Vows to Keep Fighting against Iran U-16 Team

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Vietnam’s chances of advancing to the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship quarter-final is minimal at best but the team forward Khuat Van Khang isn’t giving up.

With only one point to its name after two matches, Vietnam will need to defeat Iran by three clear goals on Thursday and hopes India defeats Indonesia to seal knockout stage berth from Group C.

“I know that we have a slim chance, but we are not going to give up hope,” Van Khang told the-AFC.com.

“Even if we have one percent chance, we are still going to fight for it.

“The whole team will work very hard together. We will play compact, we will play according to the tactical plans prepared by the coach, and if we do that, we will definitely get the three points," added the forward.

Van Khang also paid tribute to the fans.

“I want to say a million thanks to the fans who are in the stadium and also the supporters back in Vietnam, who are watching us on TV.

“Whatever happens, we will continue to play attacking football, attractive football against Iran.”
