Esteghlal Moves Four Spots Up in IPL Table
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team, who had defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman in Iran’s Hazfi Cup on Tuesday night, beat the team once again but this time in Iran Professional League (IPL).
The Blues beat Naft Masjed Soleyman 2-1 at the Behnam Mahmoudi Stadium on Saturday.
Allahyar Sayyadmanesh was on target for Esteghlal just two minutes into the match.
Mehdi Ghaedi extended Esteghlal’s lead in the 29th minute.
Milad Zakipour was sent off two minutes into the second half after receiving his second yellow card.
Naft Masjed Soleyman player Moussa Coulibaly was shown a red card in the 73rd minute but Hakim Nasari pulled a goal back with two minutes remaining.
Esteghlal moved up four places to seventh in the IPL table, six points behind leader Padideh.
