Milad Zakipour was sent off two minutes into the second half after receiving his second yellow card.
Naft Masjed Soleyman player Moussa Coulibaly was shown a red card in the 73rd minute but Hakim Nasari pulled a goal back with two minutes remaining.
Esteghlal moved up four places to seventh in the IPL table, six points behind leader Padideh.
