Shot Putter Hamed Amiri Takes Gold at Asian Para Games


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shot Putter Hamed Amiri of Iran won a gold medal in the 2018 Asian Para Games on Thursday.

He claimed a gold at the Men's Shot Put F54/55 with a throw of 11.32m.

Jalil Bagheri also from Iran seized a silver, throwing 10.67m.

Chand Tek Chand from India snatched the bronze with 8.85m.

About 3,000 athletes with disabilities from a record 43 countries and territories are taking part in the games that opened in the Indonesian capital on Saturday.

The Asian Para Games will run through October 13.
