Speaker Lauds Iranian Team’s Success at World Weightlifting C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani offered his congratulations to the national weightlifting team over their success at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships in Turkmenistan.
In a message released on Sunday, Larijani praised the Iranian national weightlifting team for ranking third at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat.
He further congratulated the Iranian people and the team for “the great achievement” and expressed hope that such successes would continue in the future.
The Iranian team ranked third after collecting a total of 448 points at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships.
The Iranian weightlifters defeated their counterparts from Russia, the US, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan during the tournament.
China and Belarus by collecting a total of 724 and 481 points ranked first and second respectively.
