Central American Migrants Still Suffering on Long March to US Border (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tanim) - Thousands of Central American migrants passed through the city of Queretaro on Sunday, as thousands especially children, are still suffering on the long march to the US border due to decreasing temperatures and lack of food and health care services

Thousands of Central American migrants passed through the city of Queretaro on Sunday and headed westwards to Irapuato in Guanajuato state.

People hitched along the 45 highway, seeking out rides on lorries or smaller vehicles. En route, one child fell ill, with emergency services called out to assist.

Authorities have been providing migrants with food and shelter on their journey.

The migrants, mostly fleeing violence and poverty, have been travelling for almost a month after the group first formed in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The caravan is expected to travel 2,800km (1,740 miles) towards the US southern border at Tijuana.
