The Colombian football team is without a coach since parting company with Jose Pekerman in September.
Iran current coach Carlos Queiroz is among the candidates to take charge of Colombia but El Pibe says there is so many talented coaches in his country can be considered as a replacement for Pekerman.
“Without a doubt, the coach must be Colombian. We have trained coaches to lead the national team,” Valderrama said in an interview with Fox Sports Radio.
Asked him about possibility of appointing Carlos Queiroz as the next coach, Valderrama said, “I’d rather look for the names like Luis Fernando Suárez and Alberto Gamero.”
