NASA's InSight Spacecraft Touches Down on Mars (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - InSight probe has successfully landed on Mars and will now study the planet’s interior, according to NASA on Monday.
NASA’s project manager for the Mars space mission InSight, Tom Hoffman, recounted the nail-biting experience of waiting for the spacecraft to land on the Red Planet.
“When we finally got the confirmation of touchdown, it was completely amazing,” he said.
NASA’s Chief Administrator Jim Bridenstine told his eager listeners that he had been on the phone to US President Donald Trump and his Vice President Mike Pence earlier in the day, who had congratulated the agency on their success.
The first image of the planet’s landscape reveals a dusty image of the probe’s surroundings.
