Iran’s Khatam Suffers Third Successive Defeat at Volleyball Club World C’ship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Khatam Ardakan suffered its third loss in a row at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship on Thursday.
The reigning Asian champion Khatam lost to Brazilian Sada Cruzeiro Contagem 3-0 (25-16, 27-25, 25-16) in the last game of Pool B.
The win ends a losing streak for the reigning Brazil and South America champion, who had already crashed out of the tournament after back-to-back defeats on the opening two days.
Both Sada Cruzeiro and Khatam Ardakan were already eliminated after Wednesday's matches.
Khatam lost to Trentino Volley of Italy in its first match and also fell short against Asseco Resovia Rzeszow from Poland.
The 2018 FIVB Men's Club World Championship is the 14th edition of the tournament.
It is being held in Poland for the second straight time from November 26 to December 2.
