Iran Runner-Up at CAFA Women's Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian women's football team finished in second place at the 2018 CAFA Women's Championship.
The Iranian team defeated Kyrgyzstan 5-0 at the Milliy Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Saturday and became runner-up.
Iran started the round-robin competition with a 6-0 team over Afghanistan but lost to Uzbekistan 2-1 in a controversial match.
Iran defeated Tajikistan 4-0 in its penultimate match.
The 2018 CAFA Women's Championship was the first edition of the CAFA Women's Championship, an association football tournament for women's national teams from the Central Asian Football Association.
The competition was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from November 23 to December 1.
Uzbekistan won the title undefeated.
