Iran Beats Hong Kong at Asian Women's Handball C’ship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Hong Kong at the 2018 Asian Women's Handball Championship on Friday.

Team Melli, who had earned its first win against New Zealand (38-19) on Wednesday, defeated Hong Kong 19-17 at the Yamaga Gymnasium in Yamaga, Japan to register its second win in the competition.

The Iranian woman handball team will meet Australia for 5th place on Saturday.

The 2018 Asian Women's Handball Championship is the 17th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship, is being held from 30 November to 9 December 2018 in Kumamoto, Yamaga and Yatsushiro, Japan.

The tournament is held under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation and will act as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Women's Handball Championship.
