Iranian President’s Chief of Staff in Turkey for Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian president’s chief of staff, Mahmoud Vaezi, travelled to Turkey on Thursday for political and economic talks.

Heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, Vaezi is going to hold meetings with top Turkish authorities in the trip.

He is also expected to make arrangements for a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iran.

Iran and Turkey have ramped up efforts in recent years to boost bilateral trade, setting a $30-billion annual trade target and signing several agreements to enhance cooperation in various areas.

Turkey is one of Iran’s major trading partners in the region.
