IPL: Tahmasebi Named Iran's Paykan Caretaker Coach


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Reza Tahmasebi has been named caretaker coach of Paykan football team on Saturday.

The 42-year-old coach has replaced Majid Jalali who left the Iranian top-flight football team by mutual consent in early December.

Jalali stepped down following the poor results in Iran Professional League (IPL).

Tahmasebi palyed in Paykan from 2008 to 2014 and was Jalali’s assistant in the current season.

Paykan sits 9th with 16 points from 15 games, 15 points adrift of IPL leaders.

Former Sepahan and Foolad coach Hossein Faraki is one the candidates to take charge of Paykan.
