Trump’s Pullback in Syria A Ploy to Appeal to His Political Base: US Author

 “Trump is suddenly vague about a timeline for pulling US troops out of Syria. He is likely capitulating to pressure from globalists in his government, or he has no intention of pulling troops and the whole idea of de-escalation is a ploy to strengthen his support among his political base in the short term. We shall see,” Walt Peretto told Tasnim.

Walt Peretto is an American writer, researcher, analyst, and sociopolitical psychologist. He is a regular contributor to Press TV and he writes for several online news magazines. He is also working on a book that will introduce the groundwork for sociopolitical psychology which is the study of the behaviors behind social systems and their interactions.

 Following is the full text of the interview.

Tasnim: As you know, Saudi Arabia's King Salman has appointed a new foreign minister as part of a major cabinet reshuffle. Why do you think the royal family decided to demote Adel al-Jubeir to the position of minister of state for foreign affairs and named Ibrahim al-Assaf as his replacement?

Peretto:  Adel al-Jubier has been a reserved and well-spoken propagandist for the Saudi regime who was likely demoted for issues involving possible crisis ‘mismanagement’ of the incident involving Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi who was first reported missing, before it was revealed that he was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018. Crisis control of the event was erratic until they finally settled on an official story of Khashoggi being killed by accident while being detained by Saudi officials. Another possible reason for al-Jubier’s demotion was to assume the role of scapegoat to deflect any possible involvement of Saudi Crown Prince Salman or others at the pinnacles of power. By royal decree, Ibrahim al-Assaf has now been promoted to foreign minister. He was likely brought in to help mend the world’s perception of the regime after this crisis. Another major reason for al-Assaf’s promotion, and perhaps the most important reason, is the fact that al-Assaf is a staunch economic globalist who will likely help lead Saudi Arabia into integrating into a proposed one world economic and control system so touted by Western elites and other powerful globalists around the world. al-Assaf brings these two important elements into the office of foreign minister.   

Tasnim: Arab states are preparing to restore their presence in Syria after years of absence following the outbreak of a foreign-sponsored conflict more than seven years ago, with Bahrain being the next in the line of countries to reopen its embassy in Damascus. On Thursday, the United Arab Emirates officially reopened its embassy in Damascus. Why are the Arab nations that once supported militants in Syria trying to restore ties with Damascus?

Peretto: I think Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates were counting on swifter progress toward regime change in Damascus. However, when you combine the presence of Russia, Iran, intermittent Turkish involvement, some elements from Iraq, and the possible de-escalation of US troops in Syria---it doesn’t look like Assad will be going anywhere anytime soon. These conditions have prompted some Arab states to seek a re-opening of diplomatic ties with Syria in the meantime. These Arab states along with Saudi Arabia, Israel, France, the West in general, and important globalist elements within the US government yearn for the ouster of President Assad. In the US, the Democratic Party opposition to Trump, as well as much of Trump’s own Republican Party are also adamantly seeking regime change. It’s possible that Trump himself may support pulling US troops out of Syria as a gesture toward his political constituency---but he would be a lone wolf in the US government if he is indeed planning on seriously de-escalating the current US military presence in Syria. 

Tasnim: The reshuffle in the Saudi cabinet as well the reopening of embassies in Damascus came after US President Donald Trump announced his decision to withdraw the US troops from Syria, asserting that the Daesh terror group had been defeated. What do you think? Do you think a new plot is on the way?

Peretto: Trump is suddenly vague about a timeline for pulling US troops out of Syria. He is likely capitulating to pressure from globalists in his government, or he has no intention of pulling troops and the whole idea of de-escalation is a ploy to strengthen his support among his political base in the short term. We shall see. The Democratic Party leadership in the US has openly supported the ouster of Assad for years now. It is possible that while Trump is president, the US may hold back on being a major overt force in Syria, instead choosing to wait for any changes in the present situation where he may escalate the US presence. It’s also possible that escalation of US forces may wait for a Democratic Party president to return to power. Trump campaigned on a promise to defeat Daesh---which is interesting since Daesh is funded by the US and its allies. One has to wonder if Trump is really kept in the dark about this or he is merely playing along. Trump displays many narcissistic characteristics and it is likely that his handlers play to this flaw in his character. As far as a new plot is concerned, anything is possible, including increased covert activity and possible false flag events blamed on the Assad regime, Iran, Hezbollah, or Russia.

Tasnim: Experts argue that it is very clear that Washington’s rage for global dominance and its imperial agenda for colonizing planet earth will remain unchanged. Do you believe so?

Peretto: The United States government and its corporate partners are the foremost military might and technological leaders of the global movement to dominate the world’s population and natural resources. This movement is not a lone US phenomenon. It is a global, primarily Western-led interconnected patchwork of networks that include corporations, think tanks, and secret societies that share a common goal for the most part. This goal is characterized mainly by a sharp reduction in the world’s population under the control of a one world government. These desires and behaviors are based around a congenital mental abnormality called psychopathy. This disorder is characterized by the innate inability to feel empathy, guilt, or remorse. Without these emotions, there is a lack of moral restraint to harmful behaviors and it is often accompanied by the compulsion to control all essential aspects of human and non-human life and the world’s natural resources. This phenomenon is as old as human civilization itself. Much of human written history are accounts of the actions of these people. Understanding psychopathy helps us to understand the history of most modern human societies and the contemporary human condition. Another important factor is that these people, which I collectively have named ‘organized psychopathy’ are themselves often well versed in human psychology. They hoard this knowledge and use it to manipulate the populace for self-serving means. They incessantly use their mainstream media to lie to us, use their monetary system and academia to control our ability to making a living, they manipulate political systems to keep us divided, and entertainment to keep us distracted. If the common people ever realize these realities in great enough numbers---the impending one world system is in trouble. Some religions characterize these contradictions and conflict as the battle of good versus evil with the outcome to be determined by Armageddon or revelation. In this battle, it is important to understand that the biggest fear of the psychopath is exposure---because they thrive when people are ignorant of their intent and the nature of their disorder. Once people wake up to the knowledge we have gained in recent years on the study of psychopathy---we can begin to employ new strategies to keep people free of this growing one-world tyranny and perhaps humankind will be reinvigorated to reach its potential.
