Pakistani Flotilla Visits Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A flotilla of Pakistani military vessels made a port call to Iran on Sunday for a friendly visit.
The Pakistani flotilla consists of a command destroyer, a coast guard warship, a logistical military vessel and a training sailing ship.
The “peace and friendship” flotilla berthed at Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Sunday morning.
According to an Iranian Navy commander, the Pakistani flotilla’s 4-day stay in Iran includes meetings with Iranian naval officers, joint cultural and training programs, and visits by the Pakistani cadets to Iranian naval facilities in Bandar Abbas and the island of Qeshm.
Iranian and Pakistani naval groups have made several reciprocal visits in recent years. They have also staged a number of joint military war games in the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean.
