Iran Issues Georgia Travel Warning, Citing Swine Flu

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry urged the citizens to avoid traveling to Georgia where a swine flu has broken out.

In a statement on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry warned Iranian travelers not to go to Georgia until further notice, unless necessary.

The statement has cited reports about the outbreak of swine flu in the Caucasian country that has killed at least 14 people so far.

The H1N1 flu strain, commonly known as swine flu, is spreading throughout Georgia.

Georgia Today quoted the country’s health minister as saying that 640 people are being treated with the virus, of which 39 are in intensive care units.
