Enemy Seeking to Create Instability in Iran via Mercenaries: Top General
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri warned of plots hatched by enemies to harm the Islamic Republic and said they are trying to create instability in the country via their mercenaries.
“The enemies of the Islamic Revolution have intended and spent (money) to prevent the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran or make them bitter,” Major General Baqeri said in a speech in Tehran on Sunday evening.
Accordingly, by mobilizing everything at their disposal, they are seeking to undermine stability and peace in the country, the top general added.
The enemy has reached the conclusion that military action against Iran would be ineffective and costly, thus it has resoted to hatching plots to foment instability in the country through employing its mercenaries, he stated.
Major General Baqeri further emphasized that, despite the sinister plots of the enemies, the country is enjoying a high level of security.
In recent years, the Middle East has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.
However, Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.
In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.
“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
