Syria Army Foils Terrorists’ Attack in Hama

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian forces and their allies managed to repel an infiltration attempt by terrorists in the direction of al-Lahayia town towards safe areas in Hama northern countryside, a report said.

According to the report carried by SANA news agency, terrorists on Tuesday attempted to sneak into the areas of Hasraya, al-Latamina and Abu Raida al-Sharqiya in Hama, but failed to do so after Syrian forces pushed them back.

During the counterattack, scores of the militants were killed and injured.

The northern Hama area is adjacent to the province of Idlib, where there are large concentrations of Takfiri militants.

Idlib and some surrounding areas are the last major bastions of Takfiri terrorists and anti-government militants in Syria, where the Syrian government has in recent months retaken much of the territory it had lost since the conflict erupted in the country in 2011.
