Minister: Iran’s Defense Power Non-Negotiable

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami reiterated that holding negotiations on the country’s missile and defense power is out of the question.

Speaking at a meeting in the city of Yazd on Tuesday, General Hatami underlined that Iran must maintain the high level of its strategic power.

Dismissing the enemy’s calls for the elimination of Iran’s sustainable power and missile capabilities, the defense minister made it clear that the Islamic Republic’s defense power is by no means negotiable.

The general also highlighted the great capabilities of the Defense Ministry in various fields, saying it can help local automotive industries to cut 90 percent of reliance on foreigners.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has reiterated on various occasions that Iran’s defense capabilities and power are not subject to negotiations.

“We will have no bargaining and dealing with the enemy over the country’s means of defense and over whatever provides or supports the national power,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in October 2017.

The adversaries are opposed to the enhancement of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s power in the region and beyond, because such power constitutes the “strategic depth of the Islamic Establishment,” the Leader had explained.
