Judiciary Chief: Iranians Will Never Give In to Pressure

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said the high turnout of people in the marches celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory demonstrates that Iranians will never succumb to pressures and cruel sanctions imposed by the enemies.

Speaking to reporters in demonstrations marking the revolution’s victory anniversary in Tehran on Monday, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said the most important message of the magnificent presence of people in the rallies is that “our great nation will never surrender to the pressures, threats, and cruel sanctions from the enemies.”

He also underlined that the Islamic Republic has an influential role in the region more than ever, saying the “resistance front in the region” is relying on Iran.

The top judge finally stressed that the enemies of Iran are doomed to failure and humiliation, like the past.

Iranian people from different walks of life attended nationwide demonstrations on Monday in celebration of the 40th anniversary of victory of the 1979 revolution which ended six decades of Pahlavi monarchy and founded the Islamic Republic in the country.

The crowd of demonstrators in the rallies paid tribute to the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, under whose leadership the revolutionary movements triumphed over the despotic regime of Pahlavi on February 11, 1979.

Imam Khomeini had lived many years in exile, in Iraq and France, before returning home and leading a historical revolution that overthrew Pahlavi regime.

The 10-day period from the return of Imam Khomeini until the revolution’s victory is celebrated annually in Iran, and is known as the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn).
