Pakistan Releases Video Showing India's Injured Pilot in Its Custody

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Pakistan's Army released a footage claiming to show Indian pilot, the Wing Commander Abhi Nanda in its custody after arrest of two Indian pilots following shot down of two Indian jets within Pakistan airspace on Wednesday.

According to the video, one of the captured pilots can be heard saying: “My name is Wing Commander Abhi Nandan. My service number is 27981. I am a flying pilot. My religion is Hindu.”

When asked to share more, the arrested pilot can be heard saying: “I’m sorry sir, that’s all I’m supposed to tell you.”

The other pilot who was arrested in an injured state is under treatment at CMH, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor said during a press conference held after Pakistan's retaliatory action to India's aggression, Pakistani media said.

Pakistan's Army spokesman added two fighter jets had been shot down, and three pilots captured.

“In response to PAF strikes this morning as released by MoFA, IAF crossed LOC. PAF shot down two Indian aircrafts inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K while other fell inside IOK. One Indian pilot arrested by troops on ground while two in the area,” The general wrote in a tweet.

Meantime, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said, “Today, Pakistan Air Force undertook strikes across Line of Control from within Pakistani airspace.”

“If India is striking at so-called terrorist backers without a shred of evidence, we also retain reciprocal rights to retaliate against elements that enjoy Indian patronage while carrying out acts of terror in Pakistan,” it added.

Tensions have severely escalated between India and Pakistan this week, with both countries ordering airstrikes and ground troops exchanging fire over the Kashmir Line of Control. Each state claims the contested region as their own, and it is divided into two areas of control.
