Unanimous Support from AFF for Sheikh Salman as AFC President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) announced its unanimous support for Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa to remain as the AFC President for another term.
The announcement was made at the AFF Council Meeting in Siem Reap, in northwestern Cambodia, Sunday.
The countries affiliated to AFF are Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.
All 12 Member Nations attended today’s AFF Council Meeting, the Official Website Of The Asean Football Federation reported.
Sheikh Salman took over as the 10th President of the AFC following his election by a resounding majority in the AFC Extraordinary Congress in May 2013. He was also elected to the FIFA Executive Committee at the Extraordinary Congress.
In 2015, Sheikh Salman was re-elected as the AFC President and as the FIFA Vice President. In 2018, he was appointed as the FIFA Senior Vice President.
