IPL: Persepolis Goes Five Points Clear

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team went five points clear at the top of Iran Professional League (IPL) on Thursday.

The Reds defeated Paykan 2-0 in Tehran’s Shahr-e Qods Stadium.

Siamak Nemati and Ali Alipour scored for Persepolis in the 45th and 89th minutes, respectively.

Moreover, Zob Ahan was held to a goalless draw against rock-bottom Sepidrood and Naft Masjed Soleyman drew 1-1 with Machine Sazi.

Persepolis remains top of the table with 51 points.

Tractor Sazi of Tabriz and Sepahan of Isfahan are second and third with 46 points with one game in their hands.
