Ayatollah Khamenei Calls Rulers of Some Muslim States Servants of US, Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described some Muslim countries’ rulers as “servants” of the US and Israeli regimes and said they are acting against Quranic instructions.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the 36th International Holy Quran Recitation Competition in Tehran on Monday, Ayatollah Khamenei said many problems facing the Islamic Ummah (community) have their roots in the lack of efforts to follow Quranic teachings.

“Many deviations, misunderstandings, feelings of disappointment, betrayals, hostilities, and submissions to false deities, are caused by staying away from the Quran and the spirituality and knowledge gained from it,” the Leader said.

“Unfortunately, some heads of Islamic countries do not follow Quranic instructions, and instead of being firm against disbelievers, they are servants and followers of the US and Zionists…” Ayatollah Khamenei said, citing a Quranic verse that instructs Muslims to be stern with disbelievers.

The Leader further pointed to the hostilities toward the Islamic Republic and said although hostilities seem to be more than before, these acts and conspiracies are “the last breaths” of the enemies.

“The more they (enemies) act against the Iranian nation and get angry with the nation’s adherence to Quranic teachings, the stronger and more powerful the nation will become….” The Leader went on to say.

In recent years, some parts of the Muslim world have been plagued with conflicts, violence, and terrorism due to a lack of unity among Muslims as well as plots hatched by the enemies of Islam.

Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL) have emerged in the Middle East, which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims, but mostly against Muslims in the region.
