Iranian Discus Thrower Hadadi Claims Gold at Asian Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ehsan Hadadi from Iran won a gold medal in discus event of the 2019 Asian Athletic Championships on Sunday.

The Iranian thrower, who won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic, seized the gold with a throw of 65.95m.

The 34-year-old athlete collected his sixth continental title.            

His countryman Behnam Shrijabilou came second, hitting 60.89m and the bronze medal went to Jordanian thrower Musab Al-Momani with 58.27m.

The 2019 Asian Athletics Championships is the 23rd edition of the Asian Athletics Championships being held in Doha, Qatar from April 21 to 24.

The event takes place at the Khalifa International Stadium and serves as the test event for the 2019 athletics World Championships to be held at the same venue.
