Israeli Police Attack Palestinian Worshippers in Al-Aqsa Mosque (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A number of Palestinian worshippers were wounded by Israeli forces who were escorting dozens of Jewish fanatics performing a provocative tour of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem on Sunday.

Some 400 Jewish fanatics led by Ehuda Glick, a hard-liner rabbi, entered the flashpoint compound on Sunday morning before the police officers scuffled with worshippers who chanted “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest) to express their anger at the entry of settlers, according to Quds News Network.

Israeli police assaulted a number of the worshippers, arrested some and chased others through the compound and went as far as entering the southern ceiled building, where the worshippers barricaded, before being attacked with teargas and stun grenades.

That is while Al-Aqsa Mosque hosts tens of thousands of Muslims converge on the holy site for worship during the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan.
