Police Chief Hails Iran’s Security despite Enemy Plots

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Police Commander Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari hailed the security situation across the country and said plots hatched by enemies, the US in particular, to create insecurity in the Islamic Republic have been foiled.

“Today, the security of the country is in a proper condition and we do not allow people’s calm to be disturbed,” Brigadier General Ashtari said in a speech in Shiraz, capital of the southern province of Fars, on Wednesday.

He further described Iran’s good security as a source of honor and said attempts by enemies, especially the US, to create insecurity in the country have been thwarted.

The commander further blamed the US government for insecurity in Syria and Iraq and said the Americans were seeking the same situation in Iran but thanks to the determination of the Iranian judiciary and security organizations, their plots were foiled.

In recent years, the Middle East has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

However, Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
