Syrian Army Targets Terrorists' Fortifications in Hama, Idlib
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian army forces carried out powerful strikes on fortified positions and supply routes of terrorist organizations in Hama and Idlib on Friday, inflicting heavy losses upon militants in the region.
SANA reported that the army units targeted fortified positions of al-Nusra Front militants and other affiliated terrorist groups on the outskirts of Kafar Zeita and al-Latamina in northern Hama, using artillery and rocket shells.
The strikes resulted in killing and injuring several terrorists and destroying their rocket launch-pads.
The army’s strikes came in response to the terrorists’ frequent attacks on civilian villages and towns of Hama.
The army’s strikes on the towns of Kafar Zeita and al-Thamina where the militants were taking shelter came in response to their frequent attacks on safe villages and towns, such as the outskirts of al-Habbit in southern Idlib as well as al-Sheikh Hadid and al-Garniya in northern and southern Hama, where the terrorists’ constant attacks caused material damage to the locals’ houses, properties and a number of agricultural fields.
In southern Idlib, the report added, the army units used rocket fire to target al-Nusra terrorists in al-Mastouma town and the vicinity of Jabal al-Arba’een while they were heading for south toward Ariha city.
A number of terrorists were killed and injured, while the rest fled towards the adjacent village of Musaybeen where some terrorist groups are positioned.
Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.
However, al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorists said they refuse to either leave the buffer zone or hand over their weapons.
