Syrian Army Attacks Terrorists’ Positions in NW Hama

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Syria's army forces stormed key positions of terrorists in northwestern Hama in the early hours of Friday after several failed attacks by the militants in the region.

World

The Syrian army carried out artillery and missiles assaults against Al-Hazeb Al-Turkmani and Al-Nusra Front’s defenses at Al-Sarmaniya village in the northwest of Hama province and near the settlements in the southern suburbs of Idlib, SANA reported.

It added that the army operations came in response to the terrorists’ mortar attacks on Mahardah and Qamhana towns.

The army strikes also targeted dens of Al-Nusra Front terrorists in Mambil and Ariha in Idlib southern countryside, killing and injuring a number of them.

Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.

However, al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorists said they refuse to either leave the buffer zone or hand over their weapons.
