Asian Women's Volleyball Championship: South Korea Beats Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was whipped by South Korea 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-14) at the 13,500-seater Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on Sunday.

The Iranian team will face Hong Kong on Tuesday in Pool A.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the round of the top eight teams, split into Pool E and Pool F.

The 2019 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship is the twentieth edition of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Korea Volleyball Association (KVA).

The tournament is being held in Seoul, South Korea, from August 18 to 25.

Top eight teams of this tournament will be qualified to 2020 AVC Women's Volleyball Olympic Qualification Tournament in January.

Only the eventual winning team in the Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament will join the other 11 teams in the Tokyo 2020.
