Iran’s Abdevali Seizes Bronze at World Wrestling Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saeid Abdevali won a bronze medal on the first day of Greco-Roman finals at the World Wrestling Championships in Nur-Sultan on Sunday.

Olympic bronze medalist and former world champion Saeid Abdevali bounced back from his semi-final defeat to see off Iurii Shkriuba of Ukraine 7-0 for bronze at the 82kg class.

IAN Haitao from China also stunned Uzbekistan’s Nurbek Khashimbekov with a headlock throw to secure a fall in 51 seconds to claim a bronze medal.

Lasha Gobadze also topped the podium for Georgia as he claimed the gold medal.

Gobadze laced up with Azerbaijan's former European gold medalist Rafig Huseynov in the final and walked away with a 7-5 victory.
