ANOC World Beach Games: Iran’s Fatemeh Sadeghi Claims Silver

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian karate athlete snatched a silver medal at the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) World Beach Games on Sunday.

She lost to her Spanish rival Sandra Sanchez in the women’s kata.

Sadeghi is placed in the 23rd position in WKF World Ranking and has the silver medal at the 2015 World Junior Championships as her best result.

The bronze medal went to Maria Dimtrova of the Dominican Republic and Mo Lau from Hong Kong.

The World Beach Games include a total of 14 disciplines in 13 sports.

More than 1,200 athletes from 97 countries are taking part in the games, with action split between the Katara and Al Gharafa venues between October 12 and 16.
