3 Killed in Shooting Attacks in Afghanistan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two police officers and a school principal were shot and killed in increased targeted attacks in Afghanistan, authorities confirmed on Monday.

In one incident, unknown armed men shot dead Sayyed Ziauddin, the principal of a boys' high school in Police District 11 near the school in the national capital of Kabul early on Monday.

"Ziauddin was out for dinner Sunday night and at the early morning he was returning home when he was killed by unknown gunmen in Khayr Khana neighborhood," a district police told Xinhua.

Elsewhere, two police officers were gunned down by unidentified armed men in Kandahar city, capital of southern Kandahar province Monday morning, provincial police spokesman Jamal Barakzai said.

The police officers were on their way to office in Police District 8 of the city before they came under attack, according to Barakzai.

No group has claimed responsibility for the two incidents.

On Saturday, unknown gunmen shot and killed a praying leader in northern Balkh province while a district chief from eastern Wardak province was killed in western part of Kabul.
