Ambassador of Pakistan Riffat Masood was the chief guest at the event. Scholars, Academicians, students and media persons also attended the seminar to highlight cultural and literary relations between Iran and Kashmir.

Iranian students recited poems at the ceremony, paying tribute to Kashmiris.

Renowned scholar Dr. Qasim Saafi shed light on the close historical and cultural relations between Iran and Kashmir, urging the United Nations to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue.

The Pakistani envoy also addressed the event. Referring to recent remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Kashmir, she said Iran has always supported Kashmiris in their struggle.

The Ambassador said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has raised the Kashmir issue at the United Nations and asked world leaders if Kashmiris were not Muslims, then India should commit these atrocities in Kashmir.

Both India and Pakistan claim Kashmir in full, but rule it in part. The two neighbors have fought two of their three wars over the disputed territory.
