Iranian Girl Alinasab Wins Silver at World Junior Chess

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Mobina Alinasab from Iran claimed a silver medal at the World junior (under-20) chess championships on Friday.

She fought for 67 moves to beat Kazakhstan’s Bibisara Assaubayeva for the silver medal after bagging nine points.

Polina Shuvalova from Russia won the gold medal with 9.5 points.

The bronze went to Polina’s compatriot Eliaveta Solozhenkina with eight points. She prevailed in a 83-move marathon over teammate Dinara Dordzhieva.

The World Junior and Girls U-20 Chess Championship 2019is being held in Delhi, India from October 14 to 26.
